Globalization, Firm Training, Education, R&D and Remuneration of Managers

In this project, we examine innovation and training incentives, productivity improvements and remuneration of managers and workers when firms compete at a local, regional or global level. Specific issues are:

  • Under which circumstances do firms invest in general training?
  • How does globalization affect training by firms and apprenticeship systems?
  • How does globalization impact on the remuneration of managers?
  • How do wages depend on the wealth and age of workers?
  • How does globalization affect R&D locations and R&D intensity?
